After dealing with Premier for 8 long months, with all of their delays and "it will be available next week" comments, it is very refreshing to have Keogh say to us on Saturday that he will have the first draft of the plans to us "next week" and then have them arrive on Monday night!
So here they are. We will probably change a few little things, like swapping around the linen from the study into the family room and maybe widening the fridge space, but on the whole I think we are actually almost there. Let us know what you think, as now is the perfect time to incorporate any of these changes because we have another meeting with Keogh first thing Saturday morning. We would appreciate any advice or comments that we can take with us to our meeting!
Are you not having the verandah around the house like in the photo? It looks so nice! Otherwise looks quite good!
ReplyDeleteHey it looks lovely, although I would rethink changing over the linen cupboard. It changes the usage of the room from a possible bedroom but thats just me. How does this fit with your current site cut? Are you going to be able to utilise the space under the house at all?
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right, after mucking about with Premier for a long time its refreshing to get a quick response.
Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThis new house should fit fine with the current site cut, because we originally made it longer than we needed to, to cover the deck we were going to add on later off the back. What is annoying though, is that Keogh told us that because we are going on stumps we actually didn't need to do the site cut in the first place - we told Premier right from day one that we wanted to go on stumps, but they wouldn't do the site cost estimations without us doing a cut first and making a level block. But it is done now, so oh well.
It just means that the house can't be any wider than 16m, as we need to stay 1m off each of the retaining walls on the two boundaries. This is why we haven't got the wrap verandah Janine - it wouldn't fit properly with the double garage! We would have to reduce sizes somewhere inside the house, and we figured it was better to keep the larger living spaces. I do like that look though...
makes sense re the width. Are you going for the green/grey look too, I really like that I have to say.
