How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

The answer? This much apparently....

That's right folks, we have timber!

Furthermore, this week the stars aligned and the gods looked down on us and Ben was scheduled to be working in Kilmore all day on Friday - perfect opportunity to see what has been happening up at the block.

He thought he would swing past the block at about 7am before starting work, only to be greeted by chippies already on site and starting to lay out the floor joists! Hooray for progress!

Of course he had to go back multiple times during the day to check up on their progress...

These guys work very quickly (especially with the weather on their side), and by about 4pm they were done! Just a tiny little bit to go on the front box window since they ran out of hardwood.

Ben got chatting to one of the guys, and in terms of timing we are now looking at the tongue and groove flooring being laid on Monday, and they will then be moving onto the wall framing by the end of the week. The chippies expect the windows and the roof trusses to arrive on site any day now, and barring any major weather delays, we should have walls and a roof completed by ANZAC Day. It will only take a few days to put on all the weatherboards, so lock-up will be here before we know it!

Concrete soldiers, standing at attention

It has been a few weeks since our last update, but there were some issues with the stumper and his machinery breaking down, so not much has been happening until last week. But that has all been sorted now, so when we went past the block this weekend we were greeted by our concrete soldiers, standing at attention in their nice straight rows:

Spoke to PK on Thursday, and the flooring timber has been ordered and the carpenter is ready to start on the flooring tomorrow. Should be done by the end of the week, and framing can continue straight from there. Very excited about what we will be seeing next weekend when we make our next visit...
