Our house, in the middle of the street...

We're in!

We had a few dramas on the morning of handover, what with the gas bottles not being delivered on site, issues with the stove, and issues with the solar panel - but we got there in the end!

Keys!!
In addition to the keys, we also got a lovely hamper of welcome-stuff from Keogh:

It has been a very busy weekend of loading stuff, unloading stuff, and unpacking. Our storage lockers are basically empty, but there is still quite a bit to move from our bedroom at (our old) home.

Huge thanks goes to all of our friends and family who stopped by over the weekend to lend a hand.

The house is not quite unpacked and picture-ready at the moment, but in the meantime we have put together a short video summary of the entire building process.

For those of you who view the blog on a mobile phone, please note that the video is about 142mb in size and runs for approximately 3 minutes.

  3. Thanks everyone for your feedback - we are really pleased with how it has all turned out! Next big job on the list will be the landscaping....

  4. We are thinking of using Keogh Homes to build a new house next year. I was wondering if you have any comments regarding this company, such as did they finish within the quoted time and cost, quality of workmanship, ease to deal with etc.

Anything that you may be able to tell us regarding them would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    1. Hi Nigel,

We are still waiting to connect our Internet do that you can see some of the final finished product, but so far we are very happy with the quality of the house and the finishes - so many people have come to visit us and have made comments about the build quality. In terms of timing, they finished up about 3 weeks ahead of schedule (of a 10 month contract). We would gladly build with Keogh again.

  5. So fantastic that you are now home owners and not home builders!!! Cant wait to see photos. Haven't managed the video yet due to net issues hopefully soon. Yay for both of you...so pleased.
