Still quite a bit to do before then:
- Fireplace to be installed
- One cracked window to be replaced
- Plumbers to come back to finish their fit-off
- LPG to be installed
- Air-conditioning installation to be finalised
- Painting touch-ups
- Skylight to be installed in the study
- Our people to come in and install the carpet
In the meantime, we have some steps to the laundry and dining room doors:
Today Ben finally finished installing the last of the front retaining wall. Only the last little bit of back-filling to go now (and cladding, but that will come later).
Woo Hoo, what a happy girl you are! Congrats guys can't wait to see the finished photos!
ReplyDeleteCongrats- all looks very good. Is the build time in line with the original timeframe? The builders will have been in site for at least 10months which seems a relatively long time for a single storey home.
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteOur current build contract is for 306 days. Given that they were onsite from the end of Jan 2012, that puts the official end date at the end of Nov 2012 - meaning that we are currently about a month ahead of schedule.
The 10 month contract is substantially longer than the build times offered by the large volume builders, but it is actually a month shorter than our original build contract with Premier Builders, so I don't think it is that out of the ordinary for the smaller builders.
Hopefully the wait will be worth it!
